How to Use Inventory Management in the Company

Today, I want to share how our company utilizes 5 minutes before departure and talk about our internal inventory management.
When you work in the office, there are times when you really need drinks, snacks, and company goods, but they are just not available, right? We used to have such occurrences frequently, but now we are managing it much more easily by using 5 minutes before departure.
From Drinks to Company Goods
The items most consumed in our company are drinks, snacks, and goods. We register these as products in 5 minutes before departure and manage the office as if it were a business.
When employees take a drink, it’s recorded as a departure, and when new drinks are added to the fridge, it’s processed as an arrival! Just by keeping track of such a simple flow, the curiosity of “How much is left in the fridge right now?” gets resolved immediately.
Weekly Inventory Check
To check how much was consumed over the week, we also conduct a weekly inventory check. It’s not just counting quantities; we can also check which snacks are popular and which ones are not being consumed much. Thanks to this, during the next purchase, we can stock up on items that employees like and reduce those that aren’t selling well.
The Difference Made by Small Management
Starting inventory management within the company has had several good points.
Not Running Out When Needed: The number of times drinks ran out and caused panic has decreased.
Reducing Unnecessary Waste: We reduced leftover snacks and focused on only items that are well consumed.
Increasing Employee Satisfaction: Everyone’s satisfaction has increased since the desired snacks and drinks are restocked in a timely manner.
In Our Own Way
Inventory management using 5 minutes before departure didn’t have to be grand. We started with managing a small fridge but are gradually expanding to managing goods and supplies.
If there are items frequently used within the company, try lightly registering and just keeping track of departures and arrivals. You can manage it much more conveniently than you might think, and additionally, employee satisfaction also rises.
